Locked Doors

Most are hurt
No, all
Some open their eyes so wide
Most are hurt
No, all
Others shut their eyes so tight
Some things are said to be better left unsaid
'Cause houses have locked doors and nail-shut windows
With skeletons and other cob-webs
Most are hurt, no, all
Some then open their eyes
So that never again will they ever allow themselves to feel that pain again
Some shut their eyes so tight
So tightly shut
Hear no evil
See no evil

Attics, basements, It doesn't matter
Both locked
A stench seeps towards this house's patio
For all to smell the aroma
It makes so much sense now
That God weeps, in pools
And roars in fire and brimstone
For God knows all dirty secrets
Some then open their eyes
So that never again will they ever allow themselves to feel that pain again
Some shut their eyes so tight
So tightly shut
Hear no evil
See no evil

Locked doors
Open these
Locked doors
Break down these
Locked doors
For all the world to see

How is someone to save you?
If you won't let them open the door?
Padlocked
Infernal padlock

You're needing release from your room
Where cold and darkness loom
Self-imposed
You try to break out on your own
Padlocked
Infernal padlock
Have you lost the key?
So soon?

Why don't you remember?
You left it underneath your pillow
Why can't you remember?
You left where no one ever goes

But you're too busy fighting
And you're too busy dying
And you're too busy pounding on the door

Padlock
Infernal padlock
Locked doors
Open these
Locked doors
Break down these
Locked doors
For all the world to see

What's beyond the light on the other?
What's beyond the light on the other?
What's beyond the light on the other?
What's beyond the light on the other?
What's beyond the light on the otherside of that door?
